Social Concerns

The members of the Social Concerns committee study social issues in the community and the world. We educate the congregation about these issues in the hopes of stimulating us all to work for change – to create in our society something closer to the Kingdom of God. Some issues we have studied are drug and alcohol use, impaired driving, gambling, organ donation, landmines, energy conservation, etc. We host speakers on such topics and hold “Talk Back Sundays” during worship and at our fellowship time after services as a way to engage the greater congregation.
